One innovation at Chartwell Group is a 39 ft. tall electronic highway display sign with a video screen portion (15 ft. by 20 ft.) erected in July 2004. The sign overlooks I-271 Northbound; the I-480 Eastbound Ramps to I-271 Northbound; and the Rt. 422 Westbound Ramp to I-271 Northbound. The screen can show both high definition video and still images.
The screen exists both to make people more aware of Chartwell's full line of services, including real estate listings, and also to connect with the community. In addition Chartwell is also offering use of the space to its tenants at Overlook Court. According to Chartwell Principal Bill Nice, no one else is advertising real estate listings on a highway sign, seen by 106,500 drivers a day. It's one way to expose property to thousands of people, he notes. And it's working - some morning drive time radio personalities have been heard discussing it. As people become more aware of the firm, says its president, we will continue to grow.
